Seek God’s Face Despite How the World Wars Against It — A Quote by Sarah Young in “Jesus Calling”

“You tend to feel guilty about pushing back the boundaries of your life to make space for time alone with Me. The world is waiting to squeeze you into its mold and to crowd out time devoted to Me. The ways of the world have also warped your conscience, which punishes you for doing the very thing that pleases Me most: seeking My Face.”

  1. Sarah, My name is James Lumpkin & I’m working on a project/invention that teaches kids to pray. I’m from a long line of outlaws that goes all the way to Jesse James. The relationship with Jesus as a child is the MOST IMPORTANT thing a child can have to prepare them to reach their purpose in life. We are all put on earth with a purpose in life, but how can a child reach their purpose IF they don’t know Jesus??? Lack of CONVICTION & CHARACTER has destroyed this once great country created UNDER GOD!!! When they took prayer out of schools, it was the beginning of our fall. There is no greater cause in this country today, than teaching our children to pray. Our children are our future & can fix this mess “IF” they have God’s Guidance. Without it, we’re doomed to follow every powerful nation before us that turned from God. History tells us this…..THIS is a brilliant idea that God has given me. I give Him all the credit. Like I said before, I come from a long line of outlaws, but was raised in a Church of Christ on the banks of the Mississippi River in Arkansas Delta. I strayed from Jesus as a teenager an started a life of dealing & growing marijuana, BUT< that relationship with Jesus as a child is what brought me back. I spent alot of time in the woods hunting & fishing. That time revealed to me that God is real. That closeness with nature let me know without a doubt, that God created this wonderful world. The beautiful sun rises & sunsets on lakes & the beautiful animals interacting is a thing of beauty. Every time I climbed a tree hunting, It was ALWAYS "Me & Jesus". He was ALWAYS with me & I knew it. Because of that time spent in Church as a Child…….I KNOW THIS WORKS, because it worked for me. God revealed my purpose in life in a dark jail cell….."Teach the children to PRAY" open the door so He can use & mold them to deal with this country's problems. So He can guide us BACK UNDER GOD'S CARE!!! THIS is the ONLY WAY to save this country!!!! I'm writing you because I lost my sister a little over a year ago to cancer & was about to give up my work. My sister's best friend gave me one of your devotionals 'Enjoying Peace in His Presence'. I felt that your writings were talking to me & gave me the strength to carry on……. I would love to tell you more about what I'm working on and could use your help. I wouldn't be writing you if I didn't think God was directing me to….. THIS could reach millions of children that the Church can't reach. This is brilliant & will have a huge impact on the next generation. I pray that this touches you & God shows you the impact THIS will have on our children. I pray you respond & I can tell you more…..God Bless….#817-807-3795…..James Lumpkin

  2. Dear James, I am sorry you’re sister passed away recently. That’s a tough thing for anybody to go through. It’s really neat that her friend gave you a devotional by Sarah Young. She writes things that God uses to encourage people and help deepen their faith.

I read somewhere recently that Sarah is battling some kind of chronic illness, so rarely replies to emails or gives interviews. When she feels well enough, she works on writing new books.

The quote I have above is one that I took from one of her books. I think, in fact, it was her first. I really loved reading it.

I wish you the best in learning how best to help kids get connected to Jesus and how to help them to learn to pray!
