Many struggle with lack of desire. But God’s grace is so wonderful! He knows us so much better than we know ourselves, and He loves it when we finally admit to Him that we need his help. We can’t always help ourselves. So I am sure that as we pray this prayer sincerely — that we “want to want Thee” — God sends the answer to our prayers in the affirmative. Sometimes it is a good idea to get help from a trusted person who both really knows God and really understands the human heart. Sometimes we need insight from others to get back on track. And I pray that you may be filled with such an overwhelming passion for God that it will be hard to remember the times when your desire was lacking.
